The term lapis lazuli comes from the Arabic word “Lazward” from which the term “Azure” also comes from. Some people call lapis lazuli as lazulite. It is an azure stone mostly blue in colour which contains a mixture of some minerals out of which alcite and lazurite are dominant. It also contains some glitter of Iron pyrite, which makes it shine.
